It's That Time of Year Again! BIA 2025

It’s that time of year again, when we spend a few weeks driving around the UK sampling the sourdough and trying the traybakes of those shortlisted in the Baker of the Year competition.
This the award is for the baker who demonstrates a passion and understanding in all things bakery, who delivers great quality and tasting products and shows a dedication to their craft.  
This year’s entries have all been strong and shortlisting them down to a handful for our judges to visit has been as tough as ever.  We began sponsoring and judging this category back in 2014 and as the last decade has passed we’ve revisited many entrants who have re-entered alongside seeing a continuous flow of new and emerging bakers.


Seeing the industry through this process is as interesting as it is to see the ebb and flow of the bakery world through equipment supply, being part of this award allows us to see the personal stories and celebrate the successes of the individual bakers as the grow within the baking sector, whether it be from apprentice level or within teaching and training roles, as well as those many bakers who have grown their own bakery businesses from scratch.  It’s a privilege to be able to see the entrants as part of their endeavours in the Baking Industry Award and once again, for 2025, we look forward to finding our Baker of the Year.
