2025 BAKER OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCEMENT
This year our Baker of the Year visits have had us completely blown away, we tend to say something like it every year, but after our visits to bakers shortlisted and endless conversation on the miles between the bakeries, we still had no clue who the winner would be.
The visits this year found us seeing bakers enter for their first time as well as other’s who have been shortlisted or finalists previously, we were ready for a strong competition, but not the toughest year yet! To say the standard was high is an understatement. To be completely sentimental about it, it was exciting and almost breathtaking to recap on the visits alongside the organisers at William Reed, to see our UK industry is such great shape, with such fantastic talent has us quite emotional.
So with such a strong field, this year we have had to add an additional finalist to the mix, a total of 4 fantastic bakers are up for the top accolade of 2025 Baker of the Year, they are;
Most Bakery – Matt Townley
Tona Erreguin - Imma Bakery
Tom Martin - Bread Factory Manchester
Gary Kadas - Seven Seeded
These bakers have found us feeling like we’re playing in a Fantasy Football league and we’ve just blown our budget on a strong back 4 or midfield with nothing left over for our other players, the talent, skills, passion and dedication that these bakers have demonstrated is tremendous.
As we look forwards to the awards night on the 23rd October, we can’t wait to visit them all again and taste the products that won us over,
we’ll be sharing more of the judge’s feedback and looking ahead to crowning a winner!
