Brook Food celebrates 25 years in business with 1st of 12 charitable donations.

2019 sees us, Brook Food Processing Equipment, celebrating our 25th year Anniversary.  Throughout 2019 we will be having lots of celebrations planned and as we celebrate our 25 years of trading we want to recognise our special anniversary by giving something back and supporting worthwhile causes and it’s something we are very excited about!

We have decided each month to give something back to causes that are close to us and it’s all about the 25! For every order our customer’s place with us of £1000 or more we will donate £25 to our chosen charity of that month.

If January is anything to go by we could donate around £20,000 during 2019, which will be truly amazing, so a big thank you to all those who have ordered and spent with us, especially those spending in excess of £1000 as it is these orders we are tallying and marking with our donations.

We are delighted to have kicked it off with St Margaret’s Hospice, a local charity close to our hearts who provide high quality responsive care to patients and their families facing life limiting illness. Ann Wells, Marketing director met with Sadie Ellison from St Margaret’s Hospice to present her and three of the nurses from the Hospice with a cheque for £1525.00 on Monday 4th February 2019 and says “It’s an absolute honour to donate this money to St Margaret’s, they are all amazing people and doing something wonderful. The care and compassion shown across the services they offer to our community is admirable.”

Sadie Ellison at St Margaret’s Hospice was surprised and delighted to receive the donation and said “On behalf of the patients, their families, carers and staff at St. Margaret’s, thank you to Brook Food for choosing to support St. Margaret’s Hospice with your generous donation. Many people aren’t aware that it costs in excess of £12 million per year to run our service and without the generosity of our loyal supporters, local businesses and the wider community, we simply would not be able to reach the thousands of people across Somerset who need our care and support.

Here are some examples of what the donation could pay for:

3 x days of care for a patient in the Taunton In-patient Unit (£500 per day)

38 x counselling sessions for a child who has lost a parent (£40 per session)

61 x middle of the night support to patients in need by one of our 24 hour advice line nurses (£25 per call)
